"I feel for his mom," Astrid said. "He has such wonderful skills, he did really well with Ginny the other day, I can see her hope for him to be an Olympic rider. And yet, he just wants to be a jockey."
Jimmy raised his eyebrows good naturedly.
"Not that, you know, oh... Never mind."
"All the talent in the world means nothing if he doesn't care," said Jimmy. "Luckily for us, I think Rhett might have enough discipline and determination to make up for Täsin's lack, for 'chasing at least."
[i finally did it! A long time ago, in December I think, I commented on a deviation of ~byrch's and she said she always painted the background first in order for it all to blend well... And since then, I've kicked myself with every deviation because I always put off trying that, until now. So you'll have to tell me if you see a difference]

I'm not sure, but I think the colors look stronger here than they usually do in your pictures, as if it's more contrast in them. I actually don't think it helps me that much to paint the bg first, but I have to test it in my next painting. (Either way you just adjust the bg or main motives to each other, so I don't really get why it would be better to paint the bg first. But I'm far from being a pro, so I shouldn't have an opinion about that at all. xD there's probably some point with this technique, I just haven't figured it out yet.)
